Review - Earth Pets

This week is Traditional African Medicine week but we decided to change it up a bit so out cat friends can join in.This week at Purrfect Family we will be celebrating Natural Health Week!! All natural healing etc will be blogged about and we really hope that some of our other cat blogs will join in if they want!

For our first natural review we bring to you, Earth Pets.

Travelling and cat shows can be very stressful for a cat. There are many remedies for pets to calm them, help with stress, anxiety and travelling.

Isabella is really good with travelling in the car and being in new environments, but as a typical only child, she doesn’t play well with other cats. Once we get to the venue for the cat show and she can hear and smell the other cats, she gets freaked out. The one day, she had a spraying male next to her and it really upset her, so a friend of mine let us use some of her Earth Pets Calming Blend spray that she uses to help calm her stressed out boy. It worked like a charm for Isabella. After just one spray on my fingers and rubbed in her ears, she had calmed right down and enjoy the rest of the day.

I of course went and got a bottle of my own. I battled to find a vet store who stocked it, even after trying the stores listed on the Earth Pets website. Eventually a friend of mind ordered my bottle directly from Sandy at Earth Pets.

Earth Pets is a range of essential oils made from natural ingredients found in leaves, roots, bark, flowers, seeds, and fruit. They are aromatherapy oils, so they can be used as a topical application, massage oil, inhalation, or consumed in water. It did not make her drowsy or tired at all, it purely just calms her down. The product is non-oily so if you rub it in her ears she won’t land up looking like a drowned rat. It comes in a small spray bottle, one spray on your fingers, rubbed in the ears and 1 spray on a blankie or whatever will be near her at the time. This seems to be more than enough and it also means the bottle will last a very long time.

It does seem to take a while to get working, so I normally do the spray on ears in the car before we leave and then a spray on her blanket once we are set up at the cat show. I have heard from other people that it works just as well for their cats, but there are also some people who said it didn’t do anything for their cat. It all depends on your cat and what works for them. I would definitely keep using Earth Pets Calming Blend for Isabella as it really works for her!

Earth Pets also have a range of healing crystal collar pendants. I am a firm believer in the effects of crystals on your mood and health, so of course I got her one. Most of the crystals available are for specific health problems but I landed up getting her the Amethyst one which helps with stress, behaviour, and general good health. It also has some calming effect too. She has definitely become a mommy’s little baby and wants loves and cuddles, much more than normal. The crystals come in small and large sizes, the small is perfect for a cat as it is the size of my pinkie finger nail.

Overall, I think Earth Pets is a great range of natural products to help your fur children keep calm and carry on. It gives them the right amount of help to help themselves. All natural ingredients and does not make them drowsy. There is a range of products for dogs, cats and horses.
