The cat community on Instagram is like nothing I could have imagined. Everyone is so supportive and loving. In just 7 months, Isabella has over 1000 followers. People from all over the world commenting, liking and sending you messages about how much they love your cat and how cute she is. Out of all these followers some of them have become really good friends, even though 98% of the time we are talking in the third person, only talking about our cats and normally only find out things about each other when we are asked to share facts or selfies of ourselves.
One of these great friends is @HelloImMagnolia and her mom Marina. Magnolia is a very pretty Ragdoll who is a few months older than Isabella. She is all the way from Massachusetts, USA.
In February, Magnolia and her mom sent us a package filled with amazing goodies, but due to our postal workers striking for the past few months, it only arrived now. Man, oh man! It was definitely worth the wait!

This is a picture of magnolia that her mom posted on instagram - go follow her @HelloImMagnolia
Inside the packaging was this very cute kitty bag that had the sweetest smell of catnip. Isabella went mad, chewing on the tissue paper, rolling around in it, and then running away with it in her month. The bag contained 2 collars, 1 toy and a bag of treats.

The toy was a Yeowww Catnip Filled Banana toy. You cannot get this toy in South Africa unless you import via Bidorbuy or Wantitall. They normally retail around R500 to R1000. If you are willing to take a chance and get it off Ebay and hoping that the post office will deliver it, then it is around R100 excluding shipping, which will land up being around R300 anyway. Isabella went wild for this, laying on her back chewing on the one end while her back feet were kicking away on the other end like a little bunny.

The collars were just absolutely adorable! One was a Martha Steward and the other Whisker City. The Martha Steward Pets Range is just amazing; I love her scrapbooking range too. I think I may be a little obsessed. Unfortunately we do not get the pets range here in South Africa. It is a beautiful orange and yellow collar with a safety clip and a flower corsage. The Whisker City collar is navy with a bow and diamantes all over, on the bow and the clip. We do get Whisker City in selected Dischem stores but only very simple ones that you can see here. The collars are so beautiful we have been swapping them around every few days.

The last item in the bag was a bag of Friskies Party Mix treats, Meow Luau flavour which contains Pork, Ocean Fish and Crab. We do get Friskies in out supermarkets, but only the pellets and wet food, never anything this great! I had no idea why Friskies does not bring these to South Africa because Isabella LOVES them.

I was busy taking the photos for this blog and Isabella had already got into the bag and chewed holes in the corner in the attempt of trying to get more. She loves her Greenies and her Acana treats, but is normally fussy with anything else. The second she hears me get this bag out, she comes running and crying for more. I’ll have to take it easy so they last as long as possible so she can enjoy them to the fullest!

Thank you so much to our friends Magnolia and Marina for such an amazing treat and a beautiful card too! It means so much that our Instagram friends are so sweet. To all the other furrends that have sent things, we have good news! We are receiving post again, but at a very slow rate, so we should started getting your gifts soon!
I hope that our South African kitties will be able to get these wonderful products in our country sometime so you can all see how amazing they are. My goal with this blog is to try and encourage international brands to start bringing their cat products here for our amazing cats and for more local products to step up their game and compete on this kind of level.
